Conductor (Junior Performing Choir, Mini Singers)

Lachlan Massey is a young Australian conductor, born in Sydney. Lachlan has composed & directed two operas: Pinocchio! (2018), which premiered at the Zenith Theatre prior to a regional tour, and Hansel & Gretel (2021), which premiered at The Concourse Theatre. 2021 will see the launch of a new series of school holiday concerts in the Utzon Room, Sydney Opera House. Lachlan was a 2018 Young Ambassador for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and acted as assistant music director for The Song Company’s Mind Over Matter. He has also written for theatre – most recently Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night: Heads or Tails?  (New Theatre / Virginia Plan). As a singer, recent roles include Lindsay in Jandamarra at the Sydney Town Hall, baritone soloist in the revival production of Ross Edwards’ Quem Quaeritis under Paul Stanhope, and Psyche with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellows. Lachlan conducts the Sydney Children’s Choir Junior Performing Choir & Mini Singers White and Mini Singers Navy.
